BTCV 50th anniversary celebratory book
BTCV, Britain’s largest conservation charity, celebrated their 50th birthday in 2009. To mark this milestone, I helped BTCV to produce a commemorative book.
I researched and wrote the book. I also helped to come up with concepts for the publication and to manage design.
To work with BTCV to research and write a 68-page, A5 book to celebrate half a century of the organisation.
The book needed to include the history and successes of the organisation, but also look forward to the next 50 years of BTCV. Above all, the book had to show the impact working with BTCV can have on the organisation’s volunteers.
It had to be readable – not a tome – and visually pleasing, with lots of photographs, old and new.
I visited BTCV’s offices in Doncaster and Oxfordshire to gather information and photographs, and to interview BTCV staff and volunteers, both past and present. I then wrote the five chapters of the book before assisting with design.
BTCV has a lasting tribute to its first 50 years of existence. The book is a high quality publication that the organisation’s volunteers, staff and supporters will enjoy greatly.
