BTCV Annual Review

Securing funding from Government commissioners is a challenge for many organisations – especially in these tight times.

BTCV work with 600,000 people each year, providing conservation volunteering to improve people’s health and employment prospects. Much of the organisation’s funding comes from local and national government.

With the new coalition government in place in 2010, BTCV commissioned me to write and manage the design of an annual review aimed squarely at promoting the organisation to these audiences.

The challenge
To produce an annual review showcasing the benefits of commissioning BTCV to ‘Big Society’ commissioners, using concise copy, compelling case studies, impactful photography and stunning design.

I came up with concepts and wrote the copy for the publication, before managing its design and proofreading. We chose a DL (third of A4) size for the publication to make it stand out from the crowd, and I undertook the challenge of fitting succinct copy and great photography and design into a tight space.

I then managed the translation, design and proofreading of a bilingual English/Welsh version of the publication.

The impact
A publication that truly conveys the difference BTCV can make to people’s lives, in an unusual, eye-catching format.
